Among just a few private Big 5 reserves in South Africa falling into a malaria-free zone, the species-rich Nambiti Private Game Reserve offers regular sightings of elephant and buffalo herds, cheetah and lion. As always, nocturnal animals, such as leopards are a delight when seen, but numerous species of antelope, together with giraffe, zebra, hippo and abundant birdlife make fora rewarding sojourn into the bushveld.
Nestled alongside a 115-year old Natal Fig tree, the lovingly restored, yet still original, colonial grey-stone manor house at Cheetah Ridge holds a historical charm, matched by no other in the reserve.
