Ailsa Tavares - Founder & Director
With a journey in the travel industry spanning three decades & two continents, Ailsa’s career began at an award winning luxury tour operator in the UK. In South Africa, in the 1990’s, she contributed in the early years to one of the region’s largest inbound/outbound operators. Returning to the UK with her South African husband some years later, a sales role at an Indian Ocean hotel group piqued Ailsa’s interest for sales & in 2003 Travel Promoters was born, initially offering contracted services for tour operators and an African travel association.
Ailsa enjoys longstanding global relationships forged over the years and is fortunate to be supported by a team who share her passion & consistent drive to achieve the goals set by our partners. Ailsa likes to live by the quote “Opportunity is missed by many, because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work”
Leanne Grobler - Account Manager
South African born, Leanne has been in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years, fulfilling various roles in the sales; marketing and PR sectors with key, luxury trade partners.
Leanne is passionate about hospitality, travel and tourism and sound, reliable client relationships form the basis of her work ethos. Her diverse work experience has allowed her to gain invaluable knowledge and experience, representing various portfolios, showcasing luxury island retreats, game lodges, boutique hotels and private villas.
Having now settled, with her family, in England Leanne continues to thrive, by sharing her passion for travel, in our ever-evolving industry. If you chat on zoom, there is a good chance her cat or dog, Chase, will make an appearance.
Mireille Beaufils - Design & Marketing Assistant
Mireille or ‘M’ as she likes to be known, moved to the UK from South Africa in 2022. She has an impressive background in advertising, marketing communication and design. Having worked for a broad range of industries including PR Events, communications, retail and education. M ensures all our literature & marketing material is current.
When not working on Travel Promoters’ next project, she spends her time keeping up with her little boy, paramedic husband & rescue dogs, she also likes to offer pro bono design work for non-profit organisations.
Public Relations & Social Media
Claire Roadley - Umlingo
Claire ( yes, she too is originally from South Africa) has 25+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, copywriting and social media for the tourism industry. Travel Promoters engages Umlingo on an ongoing basis, calling upon Claire’s vast Travel PR experience and almost endless ‘little magic book of media contacts’ to assist with our Social Media and PR activity, adding exposure and value to each of our partner relationships.
A ‘juggling wizard’, Claire’s clients include other well known African products and services including Nianova, Bushtops Safari Camps, Onguma & Our Africa Travel event. She manages a busy household & keeps up with her 3 sons. We genuinely think Claire has invented a 24 working day!
